[log] SoundRTS 1.1 alpha 6 released

The main changes since 1.1 alpha 5 are:

Languages:
- added Brazilian Portuguese translation from Bgb Blind Games Brazil

Team play:
- the peasant can store gold or wood in a warehouse of an ally (the stored resource belongs to the gatherer, not to the owner of the warehouse)

Gameplay:
- when saying the name of the current square, a summary of the content is included
- added "invisible", "detector" and "cloaker" to the description of a unit (available with V status or Tab description and Control to repeat)
- the player won't have an alert for the following events concerning an enemy or an ally: "work complete", "OK order", "impossible order"
- the alert system is changing: the remaining units are mentioned for every conflict square
- the newly discovered resources are mentioned differently

Bugs fixed:
- bug fixed: too many meadows were created (2 * nb_meadows_by_square)
- bug fixed: when attacking a friendly unit, the attacker would try to go very near the attacked unit, instead of having the "attack range" distance
- bug fixed: units with splash damage (dragons for example) couldn't be forced to attack their own units
- bug fixed: sawmills and blacksmiths were included in the W menu even after all the upgrades and research have been done

Sounds:
- 3 new TTS sounds: 4289 invisible, 4290 detector, 4291 cloaker
- sounds: removed the indefinite article "a" from 80.ogg and 81.ogg ("wood" instead of "a wood", "goldmine" instead of "a goldmine")

Solo campaign:
- in the chapter 4, after 3 minutes, the mage in b3 teleports to a1

SoundRTS 1.1 and SoundRTS 1.0 should coexist in the same machine without any problem. The settings are also stored in different folders (respectively "SoundRTS unstable" and "SoundRTS 1.0").

About multiplayer games, this version is only compatible with itself. If you modify the rules.txt file or the ai.txt file, you need to send it to your friends if you want to play with them, or they won't find your server.

It's a great game, but I found some errors. for some reason, the translator to spanish uses the French sounds (for example instead of saying 80, it says 4 20 etc.). Also, there are some sounds without translation. and finally, I tried to improve the voices a bit, because the spanish version uses ESpeak, and when I run build tts to convert the files into loquendo jorge, it sounds with bad quality. why? thanks!

Yes, the file called numbers.txt from the English version might be better. I'll try to use it. Actually, even in French, 4 20 for 80 is an excessive optimization.

About build tts and loquendo jorge, I don't know. Maybe you can use an older version of build tts and use another tool to convert to ogg.

el juego está excelente quería saber cuando sale la nueva versión?, y como puedo solusionar cuando se pone muy trabado el juego?

I hope to release a new version this month.
About the game being sometimes slow, there is nothing much to do except using a smaller map with less units. I might someday make the keyboard controls more reactive though, like in the version 1.0: even if the game will still be slow, the player will be able to send commands and examine the map at the usual speed.

si eso sería muy bueno, también otro modo de seleccionar en lugar del tab, por ejemplo estas un rato largo tratando de uvicar las catapultas enemigas. Gracias por la respuesta.

Thanks, I'll check the files.
Creating techs and units in a map is not possible yet: the main files have to be changed.
About forbidding some techs, add the name of the ability with a - before it.
To remove teleportation, add -a_teleportation to the player's starting units. For example:
starting_units peasant townhall -a_teleportation

hola, hace poco cambié de windows a ubuntu, pero todavía no puedo hacer andar el soundrts, no se me instala python2.5 pero tengo la versión 2.6 así que instalo pygame para esa versión. El problema es que cuando escribo "python2.6 soundrts.pyc" me contesta los siguiente: RuntimeError: Bad magic number in .pyc file
Ante todo muchas gracias y espero con ansias la nueva versión saludos.

Copy the Python 2.6 pyc files from the "python26" folder to the main folder, overwriting the 2.5 pyc files.

I don't know when a new version of SoundRTS will be released.
I will have to clean up the todo list before working again on SoundRTS.
