[log] SoundRTS 1.3.8.1 released

Available at:

  • https://github.com/soundmud/soundrts/releases/download/v1.3.8.1/soundrts-1.3.8.1-windows.zip

For multiplayer games, this version requires:

  • client: 1.3.8 or later
  • server: 1.2-c12 or later

Main changes from 1.3.8:

Bugs fixed:

  • in a restored game, the R key would select any soldier (thanks to Marco Oros for reporting the bug)
  • when building a menu takes too much time, repeated keys would accumulate
  • hopefully avoid any volume glitch when a sound source is created
  • custom maps will appear after official maps
  • running server.py doesn't require any package

Hi. I've noticed that the CrazyMod is listed as a sound pack in this version of Sound RTS rather than being listed as a mod in the relevant options menu.

There is a CrazyMod mod and a CrazyMod sound pack.

Sorry. I mean that the mod seems like it is being treated as if it is a sound pack. I can't play using that mod anymore because it is in the sound pack menu.

I forgot to remove the crazymod folder from the the default mods. It's an incomplete folder, that's why it was wrongly detected as a sound pack. Just ignore it and copy the mod manually, or try the automatic download by editing cfg/package_servers.txt (uncomment the second line by removing the ";").

Thank you much. The package works. I can now play using crazy Mod! I also love the other mods, too.

Now, though, I've noticed that the Private server option tends to crash Sound RTS on my computer as soon as it welcomes me to the server. is there any idea why that might happen?

If I start a Private server from the menus, Windows asks an admin-level question about allowing access to the network. Maybe this question (if unanswered) causes the program to freeze or crash?

That's a great suggestion, but I didn't see that dialogue. I ended up fixing it by unzipping all of the packages and putting all the files in their proper place. I guess the private server option doesn't like zipped up packages.

Thanks for the information. I could reproduce the issue after activating the mod. I'll try to fix it.
